To effectively suppress aldehyde odor and surely grab aldehyde without degrading the nature of a resin even using mixing with the resin.
A deodorant is constituted of a specified nitrogen containing compound having active hydrogen atoms (at least one kind selected from an acyl amide compound, an enamine compound, an aromatic imidazolone compound, and a tetrazole compound). The deodorant is useful for effectively deodoring the aldehyde odor. The deodorant composition may be constituted by combining the deodorant, an auxiliary deodorant (a basic nitrogen containing compound, weak acids or metal salts thereof, (hydrated) metal oxides or metal chlorides, alcohols, polyphenols, and adsorbent inorganic compound). An adsorbent resin composition may be formed by mixing at least the deodorant and a resin.
