Title:
DEODORIZING FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3720466
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deodorizing fiber capable of removing basic, neutral and acidic smelling components even in a case containing fine amounts of the components and useful for carpets, bed sheets for hospitals, etc., by processing a thermoplastic polymer containing a tetravalent metal phosphate, a divalent metal hydroxide and a photocatalyst and having a specific surface into the fiber.
SOLUTION: A thermoplastic polymer containing a tetravalent metal phosphate, a divalent metal hydroxide and a photocatalyst (a photosemiconductor or an oxide semiconductor such as titanium dioxide) and having a specific surface of ≥1100cm2/g is processed into a fiber. The contents of the photocatalyst, the tetravalent metal phosphate salt and the divalent metal hydroxide are 0.1-20wt.%, respectively, and the photocatalyst is preferably contained in an amount of 10-750 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the tetravalent metal phosphate salt and the divalent metal hydroxide (and a silicate salt compound, when contained).
