To provide a method for treating a chemical milling deposit which can reduce costs and is improved in productivity and safety.
Copper sulfide (Cu2S) produced by the chemical milling of an aluminum alloy is discharged from a milling tank 1 and transported to a filter press 2 to be separated into a liquid portion mainly comprising a milling liquid and a solid containing copper sulfide as a main component. The deposit with high temperatures, before being transported to the filter press 2, is made to bypass the filter press 2 by using a bypass pipe 11 to pass through a deposit transportation pipe 3 and a liquid supply pipe 4, and the temperatures in these systems are increased. In this way, the generation of aluminum hydroxide is prevented. The separated liquid portion is returned to the milling tank 1. After prescribed separation is finished, washing water is supplied to wash the filter press 2. The washing water is supplied on the basis of the amount of milling liquid to be lost, for example, by evaporation in the milling tank 1.
