Abstract:
PURPOSE: To adjust a desired clearance by pressing a movable depressing roll forward on a fixed depressing roll by a hydraulic cylinder through a driving screw and bearing presser, rotating the movable roll by a specified number of pitches and retreating the movable roll in a specified distance.
CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a fixed depressing roll 2 in its axial direction are pivoted on a couple of fixed bearings 3, and a couple of movable bearings 5 to support a movable depressing roll 4 attachable and detachable to and from the roll 2 are pivoted displaceable to a support 1. The clearance between the rolls 2 and 4 is adjusted by a clearance adjusting mechanism 9. A bearing presser 10 constituting the mechanism 9 is provided with a female screw and firmly attached to the movable bearing 5. A driving screw 12 joined to the female screw of the presser 10 is rotated forward and backward through a rotating means 13 consisting of a hydraulic motor 14, reduction gear 15 and gears 16 and 17. Further, the roll 4 abutted on the roll 2 is freely displaced by a hydraulic cylinder 19.
