Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly attach/detach a deraileur without a special tool.
SOLUTION: A derailleur for a bicycle comprises a base member 20, a movable member 24 for supporting a chain guide 28, a linkage mechanism 30 coupling the base member 20 with the movable member 24 so that the movable member 24 is moved relative to the base member 20. A quick release shaft 34 extended from the base member 20 is incorporated with a cam followed 38 within the vase member 20. When a rotary cam 42 supported to the base member 20 is rotated, it makes contact with the cam follower 38 so that the quick release shaft 34 is retracted into the base member 20. A nut 52 may be attached to an end part of the quick release shaft 34 so that the derailleur is surely secured to an end part of a pair of forks in the frame of the bicycle by means of the base member 20 and the nut 52.
