PURPOSE: To provide a color cathode-ray tube in which a displayed image is improved in white uniformity or the like by mounting in an exposure device a filter obtained through specific manufacturing for correcting luminous intensity distribution, and forming a phosphor screen using photolithography techniques.
CONSTITUTION: An opening, which allows metallic vapor from a metallic vapor deposition source 3 to pass therethrough toward a glass base 1 so that a metal film is vapor deposited on the portion of the glass substrate 1 opposite thereto, is provided halfway between the glass substrate 1 and the metallic vapor deposition source 3, and a vapor deposition pattern 2 which rotates relative to either one or both of the glass substrate 1 and the metallic vapor deposition source 3 is provided around an axis passing the center of the glass substrate 1 and that of the metallic vapor deposition source 3. As the speed of rotation of the vapor deposition pattern 2 is varied by a servo motor 5 according to the position of the vapor deposition pattern 2 relative to the glass substrate 1, a metal film for shielding light is vapor deposited on the glass substrate 1 to manufacture a filter for correcting luminous intensity distribution. The filter for correcting luminous intensity distribution is mounted on an exposure device and a phosphor screen is formed by photolithography techniques.
