To establish a design method for designing a screw fastening member reliably without falling by defining a relation between every damage form and external force of the screw fastening element.
In a design method for machine elements (screw fastening elements, so to speak) comprising screw members in which fluctuation loads (fluctuation external force, so to speak) is applied repeatedly in a screw fastening structural part and objects to be screwed, with elasticity limit, fatigue strength, and real break power as material properties of the screw member, the elasticity limit as material property of the object to be screwed is used, permissible values to the fluctuation loads of a variety of damage forms of the screw fastening element are calculated, and the permissible loads can be obtained by comparing them with one another. Thus, design to prevent the damage of the screw fastening is possible without omission and appropriate measures can be taken.
