Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect turn off failure in high speed, by utilizing the variation of slope at the anode current falling down for the failure. CONSTITUTION:To prevent the destruction due to turn off failure of the gate turn off thyristor, the failure during the turn off period of the thyristor 1 is directly detected by using the change in the slope at anode current falling down. Thus, the turn off failure is detected by this way, the detection speed is rapid, allowing to earlier protective operation followed the detection and to ensure the protection for the element.
