Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simply find out the voltage polarity and the rotational direction of a DC machine by detecting the generation voltage of an armature, which occurs when a field coil is excitated with a small capacity power source and the armature is rotated by man power.

CONSTITUTION: AC power 3 is converted to DC by DC power unit 4, and this is supplied to field coil 2 through a current limiting circuit 5. When an armature 1 is rotated by man power, the voltage generated in the armature 1 is amplified by an amplifier 6, and is sent to a comparator 7, and is compared with the reference voltage, and when it is normal output, to +side, and when it is reverse output, to -side, output is made. These outputs are input to D-latches 9 and 10, respectively, and also these outputs are input by triggering the D-latches 9 and 10 after a certain time through a timer 8. Hereby, when the DC machine rotates forward a pilot lamp 11 lights, and when the machine rotates reversely a pilot lamp 12 lights.
