Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing an anionic surfactant in the form of a salt with a basic amino acid, exhibiting low stimulation to the skin and mucosa and free from characteristic smell of basic amino acid by adding specific amounts of a water-soluble reducing agent and/or a chelating agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) a detergent composition containing an anionic surfactant in the form of a salt with a basic amino acid with (B) a water-soluble reducing agent (e.g. sulfite or thiosulfate) and/or a chelating agent [e.g. ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, ethylene glycol bis(2-aminoethyl ether)tetraacetic acid and tartaric acid]. The amount of the reducing agent and the chelating agent is 0.005-10wt.% (preferably 0.01-5wt.%) each.
