Title:
DEVELOPING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3167060
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably obtain high-density images even without fogging even if toners of fine particles are used by specifying the rotating circumferential speed of a developing roll relative to a photosensitive body and the AC voltage to be impressed to the developing roll.
CONSTITUTION: The negatively charged one-component toners T having 4.0 to 7.0μm average grain size are supplied as the one-component developer in a developing device to the developing roll 6 by rotation of an agitating member 20 and are transported according to the rotation of the developing roll 6. On the other hand, the photosensitive drum 2 and the developing roll 6 faces each other apart a min. spacing SD=300μm in the nearest part. Non-contact development is executed by impressing an AC bias of interpeak voltage Vpp=1200V and frequency f=1800Hz superposed with DC to the developing roll 6 at the time of forming the images. The relation between the interpeak voltage Vpp, the frequency f and the min. spacing SD is so set as to satisfy Vpp/SD<1.5+(f/600) and the circumferential speed of the developing roll 6 relative to the photosensitive drum 2 is set in a 1.25 to 2.5 times range.
