Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely develop an air bag even when limiting an upper limit value of output of load sensors.
SOLUTION: The four load sensors having an upper limit value of a detecting range are arranged on a seat of a vehicle. Weight of an occupant seated on the seat is detected as the sum of the output of the four load sensors. Development of the air bag is permitted when the detected weight of the occupant is a prescribed value or more, and the development of the air bag is prohibited when the weight is less than the prescribed value. When either output of the four load sensors is the upper limit value of the detecting range, since the output of the load sensors is limited to the upper limit value of the detecting range by permitting the unfolding of the air bag regardless of the detected weight of the occupant, even if the weight of the occupant is calculated smaller than actual weight and becomes less than the prescribed value, the occupant can be restricted by surely developing the air bag.
