To provide a method and apparatus for dripping liquid for cold-rolling equipment by which the liquid retained on the surface of a metallic strip is dripped in order to perform measurement with a sensor in the cold-rolling equipment arranging the sensor on the outlet side of a cold-rolling mill for rolling the metallic strip.
This method has a stage where the liquid is jetted toward a region to be a measuring position of the sensor on the upper side of the metallic strip from the side of the end part in the width direction on one side of the metallic strip between the outlet side of the cold-rolling mill and the inlet side of the sensor, and a stage where gas is jetted toward a region forming the measuring position of the sensor on the upper surface of the metallic strip, on the downstream side of the position where the liquid is jetted and the upstream side of the sensor.
