Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of controlling a cooling fan, and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: The device related to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a first power source for supplying a power source for rotating a cooling fan at low rotational speed; and a second power source for rotating the cooling fan at high rotational speed. The device further includes: a first register for setting whether or not the cooling fan is rotated at low rotational speed by the first power source; and a second register for setting whether or not the cooling fan is rotated at high rotational speed by the second power source. The device further includes: a detection circuit for detecting that setting of any one of the first and second registers is changed to setting for rotating the fan; and a timer circuit for starting timing when change of setting of the first or second register is detected. The device still further includes a logic circuit for making setting of the second register valid, according to a signal output from the timer circuit during timing, and rotating the cooling fan at high rotational speed by the power source supplied from the second power source.
