Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device of capturing a weft yarn tip in a jet loom, enabling the loom to produce a textile uniform in the horizontal direction and also to increase tension of the yarn before it is passed through a weft detector by capturing a tip of the yarn immediately after it is passed into the loom to prevent return of the tip and thereby to keep a tension stable throughout the yarn by the yarn's restoring force.
SOLUTION: This device is pivoted with a 1st arm 4 and 2nd arm 5 on the side of a cloth fell 19 of a reed 3 in a swingable way back and forth, and, when a weft yarn 2 is passed into a yarn inserting passage, positions the 2nd arm 5 on the side of the cloth fell 19 from the yarn inserting passage and the 1st arm 4 on the side of the reed 3 from the yarn inserting passage by making use of a beating motion of the reed 3, and moves the 2nd arm 5 backward and the 1st arm 4 forward while the reed 3 is in beating motion, so as to capture the front end of the weft yarn 2 immediately after it is passed into the yarn inserting passage and thereby to impart a tension to the weft yarn 2.
