To prevent an unnatural swing back phenomenon which leaves traces in the direction opposite to panning or tilting, irrespective of stopping a camera when a user utilizing a device for correcting a blurring due to hand shake performs a panning operation or a tilting operation.
The device for correcting blurring due to hand shake is equipped with a shaking detecting means which detects shaking, a correcting means which corrects blurring caused by the shaking, a high-pass filter which eliminates direct-current components of panning and tilting from signals output from the shaking detecting means, an integral means which integrates outputs from the high-pass filter, a panning/tilting detection means which detects the panning and the tilting from the signals output from the shaking detecting means, and a means which varies the signals output from the shaking detecting means depending on the detected result of the panning or tilting.
