To provide a device for detecting a camera attitude, which is excellent in space efficiency, and which prevents abnormal noise or shock associated with the change of the camera attitude.

An annular guide rail 5 including a steel ball 6 inside is arranged around the lens barrel of the camera. The ball 6 is moved along the guide rail 5 in a center-of-gravity direction associated with the change of the camera attitude. Photoreflectors 7, 8 and 9 are provided in contact with the guide rail 5, and respectively detect the ball 6 when the ball 6 exists in front. The posture of the camera is decided according as which photoreflector detects the ball 6.
