A SD-PHS memory combo card 1 as the device for enhancing the functions of the wireless modem comprising a SDIO controller 10, a flash memory 20, a PHS controller 30, a PHS antenna module 40, is a multi-function card with a storage function for storing data in a host equipment, and a wireless modem function for transmitting/receiving data by connecting to a public telephone line. The application software relating to the wireless modem function is stored in the flash memory 20 in advance, which is made operational when needed.
