Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve workability and service life by regulating the flow rate of a molten material by a metallic sleeve and sliding blade or the like and pouring the molten material into a metal having a cooling structure of double walls.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling floor 18 is obtd. by disposition in a manner as to pass cooling water in the double walls having a thickness H of about 15 mm. Next, an orifice having diameter D of about 50 mm above the thickness H of the floor 18 is disposed at this floor 18 and a sleeve 20, a shoulder 21, an insulating material 22, a conical portion 24 or the like are formed. Next, glass of a viscosity about 8 Pa.s at about 1,200°C is introduced into the metal and, thereafter, the sliding blade 26 is slid relatively to the pouring aperture. The cross section of the orifice is adjusted by an actuator 32 to regulate the glass pouring rate. If necessary, a parting profile 34 is disposed at the front end of the blade 26 in order to part the gas jet flowing through the orifice to smooth the pouring.
