PURPOSE: To melt and bond under pressure the protrusions on the surface of a prepreg to flatten the surface thereof by providing a pair of upper and lower heating, pressing rolls wherein the prepreg, which has been heated to a softening point of resin or higher, resin being formed into a B-stage, is passed through under pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of upper and lower heating, pressing rolls 1, 1 are disposed opposed to each other and a prepreg 2, which has been heated to a softening point of resin or higher, resin being formed into a B-stage, is passed through therebetween under pressure. In this manner, the protrusions on the surface of the prepreg 2 are melted and bonded under pressure so that the surface thereof is flattened. And transfer belts 3, 4 are stretched endlessly around supporting rolls 7 in the rolls 1, 1 and the prepreg 2 is interposed between these rolls. Further, belt cleaning devices 5 and belt drying devices 6 are disposed at predetermined locations of the belts 3, 4, whereby the prepreg 2 is flattened under conditions free from impurities.
