Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a measuring/calculating device continuously measuring the Langelier's index (LI) of city water with a simple means and capable of being utilized as the water quality monitor of the water service.
CONSTITUTION: This measuring/calculating device for the Langelier's index (LI) is provided with a water quality instrument 2 measuring the pH, water temperature, turbidity, chromaticity, and conductivity of test water, a determining circuit 3 determining the coefficients of the arithmetic equation via a water quality correlation test, an estimating circuit 4 estimating the total solid material quantity, calcium hardness, and M alkalinity from the measured values of the water quality, a determining circuit 5 determining the total solid material quantity, temperature coefficient, calcium hardness, and M alkalinity, and an arithmetic circuit 6 obtaining the Langelier's index-(LI) from the arithmetic equation based on the estimation and determination. A post-alkali injection control device is arranged on a clean water reservoir of service water, the total solid material quantity, calcium hardness, and alkalinity are inferred based on the pH value of the clean water reservoir, the target pH of the clean water reservoir is determined via the measurement of the Langelier's index (LI), then the alkali injection ratio of the alkali injection control device is controlled.
