Abstract:

To provide a device for lowering the sugar contents of a plant raw material, capable of efficiently reducing the contents of water-soluble sugars contained in the fibrillated or chipped plant raw material.

This device for lowering the sugar contents of a plant raw material is provided with a sugar-degrading device 1A for degrading (fermentation treatment) the water-soluble sugar contents of the fibrillated or chipped plant raw material with a sugar-degrading organism such as yeast, and a hot water-treating device for treating the plant raw material treated with the sugar- degrading device with hot water. A treating tank 11 of the sugar-degrading device 1A is divided into four small chambers A-D, in which the plant raw material P is accumulated and subjecting to the degradation treatment of water- soluble sugars.
