PURPOSE: To check extremely efficiently the position of a hole by having a supporting base having a square plane to be placed thereon with an object to be measured and a movable bridge disposed across a pair of opposite sides at a right angle to said sides.

CONSTITUTION: This measuring device contains a supporting base 10 having a rectangular or square plane to be placed thereon with an object to be measured, a movable bridge 11 placed across a pair of the opposite sides of said plane at a right angle to said sides and a carrier 12 placed movably on said bridge. The measuring element of an inspecting rod can be easily made coincident with the hole to be measured according to such constitution. The position of the hole is therefore checked extremely efficiently without requiring skill.
