Abstract:
To provide a footstep cleat chipping detecting device and a footstep cleat chipping detecting method capable of easily detecting existence and a place of a chipped part of a footstep cleat of a passenger conveyor.
A footstep cleat chipping detecting device of a passenger conveyor includes a lighting device 13 for irradiating light from the direction for generating a shadow due to a recess-projection shape to a tread of forming the recess-projection shape of alternately arranging a recessed part and a projection part to the orthogonal direction to the moving direction on a footstep 1, a photographing device 14 for photographing the shadow, and a display device 15 for displaying an image of the photographed shadow.
