Title:
DEVICE AND METHOD DETECTING OVERFLOW IN AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3956655
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overflow detection circuit in an audio equipment capable of reducing the possibility of erroneously deciding that a signal, which is not overflowing, as a signal that is overflowing.
SOLUTION: An absolute value output circuit 1 outputs the absolute value Da of data Din to be detected. A level decision circuit 2 outputs a pulse signal to a count terminal of a counter 3 in the case the data Da are larger than a threshold Xt, and outputs the pulse signal to a reset terminal of the counter 3 in the case the data Da are equal to or smaller than the threshold Xt. The counter 3 performs up count when the pulse signal is supplied to the count terminal. A comparison circuit 4 compares an output of the counter 3 with a constant N, and outputs a '1' signal in the case the output of the counter 3 is larger than or equal to the constant N. A flip-flop 5 is set at a start of an output of the comparison circuit 4 and is reset by a signal Sr supplied from the outside. An output of the flip-flop 5 is outputted as an overflow detection flag F.
