The volume level of the artificial sound is computed by subtracting the volume level of the noise really output from the automobile and corresponding to the detected vehicle speed and the volume level of the noise really output from the automobile and corresponding to the detected engine speed from the volume level of the noise to be output from the automobile and corresponding to the detected accelerator position. The artificial sound of the computed volume level is output.
