Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a reproducing signal by executing the trace of the same track in plural times and selecting proper data out of the data to be obtained with the respective traces. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing signal, which is obtained by reproducing and scanning a magnetic tape 1 with heads 3-6, is supplied from a data detecting circuit 8 through a revolving transformer 7 to a signal processing circuit 9. The reproducing data of the same track, which are obtained from the main head 3 and the sub-head 5, are separately and simultaneously supplied from the signal processing circuit 9 to a switching circuit 11 and an error detecting circuit 10. To these data, error detection is respectively executed and the switching circuit 11 selects either of the data, which are supplied from the signal processing circuit 9, in correspondence to the detected result of the error detecting circuit 10 and outputs the data to an output line 12. Thus, a data error is decreased and the reliability is improved.
