The device for storing and binding used paper 10 is constituted by a bottom surface 1 and first to fourth side surfaces and includes a string roll installing means 7 arranged at the rear side of the bottom surface 1, a string end engaging means 3 arranged outside a first side surface 2a for use in engaging with a string end fed out of the string roll installing means 7, leading means 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d arranged at the upper edge central portion of each of the first to fourth side surfaces 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d to lead the string, engaging means 5a, 5b, 5c and 5d arranged at the lower central portion of each of the first to fourth side surfaces 2 to engage with the string, guides 6b and 6c arranged outside the upper edges of the side surfaces 2b and 2c to lead the string along the outside part of each of the upper edges, and string cutting means 8 arranged outside the side surface 2d to cut the string.
