PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of edge strain by interposing a small diameter spacer having a smaller diameter than the outer diameter of a coil and larger than the diameter at a position corresponding to a cold point of the coil between a base plate and a spacer.
CONSTITUTION: A base plate 3 is arranged on a cylindrical supporting metals 2 arranged on a furnace hearth 6 and the coil 1 is placed through a small diameter spacer 41 and the ordinary spacer 4. The diameter of the small diameter spacer 41 is larger than the diameter of the position corresponding to cold points 7 and smaller than the outer diameter of the coil 1. Since the spacer 4 just below the coil 1 supports an outer winding part of the coil 1 is the state of a cantilever-like by this small diameter spacer 41, a gap is developed between the spacer 4 and the base plate 3, the concn. of load to the end surface of the outer winding part of the coil 1 caused by upward warping of the base plate 3 can be released.
