Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain uniform pressure across the width of a press roll by assembling two support rolls to roll carriers and positioning the roll carrier orthogonally against the rotation axis line of the support roll onto the support body or support member to which the roll carriers are frame-fixed or fixed to the frame like a balance support.
CONSTITUTION: Support housings 4', 5' welded to a support pillar 3 connected to side wall parts 1, 2 support roll carriers 4", 5" by a cylindrical shell-like bearing which retains the housings 4, 5 for a support roll 6. A support roll 6 supports a pressure roll 7 assembled to the side wall parts 1, 2. A support roll 21 to support the upper pressure roll 18 is supported by a support housing 23 positioned on a roll carrier 23' like a balance support and a roll carrier beam 23' supports the end part of an additional carrier 23" by a cylindrical shell-like bearing 21'. A balance-support-like carrier 23" is positioned on a lateral member of a metal-fitting-like carrier 28' by an additional shell-like bearing 21" and the metal-fitting-like carrier 28' is lifted up/down by a spindle 26.
