To provide a technique capable of reliably detecting an approaching object with a possibility of causing a contact or collision to an occupant of a vehicle in opening a vehicle door without a door opening/closing operation such as an operation of moving a door knob upon an exit from the vehicle.
The approaching object approaching to the vehicle is detected based on a photographed image obtained by a camera mounted in the vehicle in a halt condition of the vehicle. A vehicle door which the approaching object approaches is specified out of a plurality of vehicle doors, and the alarm device corresponding to the door is actuated in response to the detection of the approaching object. Thus, the risk of the contact or collision with the approaching object by opening of the door upon the exit from the vehicle, can be avoided.
