To provide a sterilizing/washing device for tea leaves capable of effectively conducting sterilization of fresh tea leaves and decomposing/ eliminating residual agrochemicals thereon.

This sterilizing/washing device for tea leaves has the following means: a tea leaves supplying means 1, an ozone sterilizing/washing means 5 which conducts sterilizing/washing treatment of tea leaves, a drying means 31 for drying the thus sterilized and washed tea leaves and a conveying means 71 for conveying the tea leaves dried by the drying means 31; wherein the ozone sterilizing/washing means 5 is so designed as to form nearly semicircular drum part 13 by buldging the bottom 11 of a closed sterilizing/washing chamber 9 so that the cross section of the bottom becomes nearly semicircular, lay a rotating shaft 19 rotating with a motor 15 on the centerline of the nearly semicircular drum, mount a plurality of agitating blades 21 on the rotating shaft, send gas-phase ozone into the sterilizing/washing chamber, and also spray ozonous water thereinto.
