PURPOSE: To carry out continuous operation of washing of vegetables such as carrots, etc., by providing an outlet for taking out washed vegetables with a door capable of being opened and closed, applying force to the door so that it is always closed.

CONSTITUTION: When vegetables such as carrots, etc. are fed to the starting side of the washing dent part 3 on the brushing rolls 1, 1,... rotating on their own axes, the fed vegetables are transferred to the end side of the washing dent part 3 which is sloped downward while being rotated. In the transportation process, dirt such as mud, sand, etc. on the surface especially the dent part is removed from the vegetables such as carrots, etc. by the action of the brushing rolls 1, 1,..., and further washed cleanly with washing water sprinkled from the nozzles 17, 17,.... When a fixed amount of the vegetables are retained at the end part of the washing dent part 3, the door 9 is opened outward by the pressure of the retained vegetables against the force of the force applying means 11. The washed vegetables are taken out from the outlet 7 to the outside.
