To provide a device for working minute recesses, by which minute recesses are accurately formed on the outer peripheral surface of a cylinder part of a workpiece.
The device is provided with: a headstock 5 and a tailstock 6, which rotatably hold a workpiece W; a supporting rod 3, which is turnable at its base end as a center in such a direction as to approach to and separate from the workpiece W; a forming roller 9 mounted on the intermediate part of the supporting rod 3; a compression coil spring 14, which brings the forming roller 9 into pressure contact with the workpiece W by applying a load to the tip end part of the supporting rod 3; and an axial direction moving means, which relatively moves the workpiece W and the forming roller 9. Blurring and the like of the forming roller 9 are eliminated by operating the supporting rod 3 as a lever, so that projected parts 8 are accurately transferred to the workpiece W. Thus, minute recesses are accurately formed on the workpiece W.
