PURPOSE: To provide a polymer stabilizer capable of effectively protecting a polymer against photooxidiation, thermal oxidation, etc., by using a specific compsn. having a hydrazido-substd. or amino substd. polymer stabilizer group as an essential component in constituting the stabilizer.
CONSTITUTION: This polymer stabilizer is constituted by using the compd. expressed by formula I (A is 2-48C org. quadrivalent group; D is the bivalent group of formula II; (x) is 0, 1; E is the univalent group of formula III; (d) is 0, 1, 2; G is hydrazido-substd. hindered phenol, hydrazido-substd. hindered amine photostabilizer, hydrazido-substd. dialkylsulfide, hydrazido-substd. 2- hydroxybenzophenone, amino substd. 2-hydroxybenzophenone or the like) as an effective component. The more specific examples of the compd. of the formula I include N,N'-bis[3-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propaneamide]pyromellitimide, etc.
