To provide a gas meter having a simplified structure and a compacted whole body.
In this diaphragm type gas meter, each of two metering chambers 2 existing across a partition 1 is equipped with two air chambers 7 across a diaphragm (metering film) 3 whose peripheral edge is fixed in the airtight state, and gas metering is performed by converting a advancing/retreating displacement of the diaphragm (metering film) 3 caused by gas supply/exhaust in the two air chambers 7 into a rotational motion respectively. The gas meter is equipped with a motion conversion means 4 for converting the advancing/retreating displacement of the bladder diaphragm (metering film) 3 caused by gas supply/exhaust into the rotational motion respectively, a rotary valve 11 for switching the air chamber 7 and a guide route 6 to be connected to an exhaust route 5 by the rotational motion through a window hole 9 and a relay chamber 10, a rotating shaft of the rotary valve 11 and a rotation output shaft of the motion conversion means 4 as a series of shaft 12, and a sealing surface 14 for separating the inside from the outside of a bearing part 13 on a lower part of the bearing part 13 where the shaft 12 is inserted in the rotary valve 11.
