Abstract:

To provide a diatomaceous earth molding which makes diatomaceous earth used as a filtering aid for water of a bathroom etc., easy of handling.

The diatomaceous earth molding which is disintegrated easily in water comprises diatomaceous earth and a cellulose ether. The amount of the cellulose ether incorporated in the molding is 0.1-10 wt% of the amount of the diatomaceous earth of the molding. A cellulose ether solution is added to diatomaceous earth mixed with water in advance, and the mixture is kneaded, molded, and dried.
