Abstract:
To provide a diesel engine which can carry out diesel combustion of hydrocarbon-system fuel having high self-ignition temperature.
The diesel engine carries out diesel combustion of the hydrocarbon-system fuel G by injecting the fuel G into a combustion chamber 1 where new air A is compressed. The diesel engine includes an aldehyde supply mechanism 20 which oxidizes part of the hydrocarbon-system fuel G so as to generate aldehyde G0, and which supplies the generated aldehyde G0, to the combustion chamber 1.
