Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine for allowing efficient regeneration of a diesel particulate filter.SOLUTION: The diesel engine includes an oxidation catalyst, the diesel particulate filter, and control means for estimating the amount of particulate matters accumulated on the diesel particulate filter on the basis of a pressure difference between the upstream side and the downstream side of the diesel particulate filter, and for regenerating the diesel particulate filter on the basis of the estimated amount of the particulate matters accumulated thereon. The control means can execute second regeneration control. The second regeneration control is executed when a first set time passes in the state that the amount of the particulate matters accumulated thereon exceeds a first threshold value, or once every a second set time, to burn and remove the particulate matters accumulated on the diesel particulate filter while using post injection of a fuel injection valve.
