Title:
DIFFERENTIAL GEL ELECTROPHORESIS USING MATCHED MULTIPLE DYES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3890071
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a kit for detecting differences in two or more of protein samples.
SOLUTION: Protein extracts are prepared, for example, from each of different cell groups 1, 2 to be compared. Each of the protein extracts is labeled with a different luminescent dye from a matched set of dyes. The matched dyes have generally the same ionic characteristic and pH characteristic, but emit respectively lights at different wavelengths to exhibit different colors when detecting luminescence. The labeled protein extracts are mixed together and are made to migrate together electrophoretically. Gel 4 is observed to detect a protein specific to a certain kind of sample, or existing with a greater ratio in the certain kind of sample than that in the other. Those specific or excessive protein will emit fluorescence comprising the color by one kind out of used dyes. The proteins common to respective samples migrate together and the same fluorescence.
