Title:
DIGITAL CAMERA AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING IMAGE DATA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3223972
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera that prevents deterioration in image quality due to compression of image data.
SOLUTION: A CCD converts light into charges in a step S101, an A/D converter converts the charges into a digital signal and transfers the digital signal to a RAM in the step S101. In a step S102, color interpolation is applied to data stored in the RAM on the basis of color information of surrounding pixels to generate image data with the color information as to each of 1280×960 pixels. In a step S103, magnified image data consisting of 1600×1200 pixels are generated from the image data generated in the step S102. In a step S104, the image data are compressed by an irreversible compression system in compliance with the joint photographic coding experts group JPEG standards to increase number of recorded pictures to a flush memory to generate compressed image data with a small capacity. The compressed image data is stored in the flush in a step 105.
