Abstract:
To provide a high-shrinkage polyester fiber suitable as a different shrinkage combined filament yarn for giving a cloth having high quality and excellent bulkiness.
The direct spun and drawn yarn is composed of a polyester fiber copolymerized with a third component. The polyester fiber has a boiling-water shrinkage (BWS) of 20-40%, a dry-heat shrinking stress (Sp) of 200-330 mg/dtex and the dry-heat temperature (Tp) corresponding to the peak dry-heat shrinking stress of 120-140°C. The third component is preferably 2,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]propane and/or isophthalic acid.
