Abstract:
This invention provides a disk cylinder lock unit that can be used in-door and out-door without easily causing a malfunctioning or a failure; for example, even when the key inserted in the key hole is broken, the broken key can be removed from the key hole. The disk cylinder lock unit has a housing 11, a rotor 12, a plurality of disk tumblers 13, 14, 15, an arc shaped plate spring 16, a sidebar 17, a lockplate protruding from the inside of housing, a frontplate 19 and a rearplate closing the openings at the front and rear ends of the housing. From the key insertion hole 19a at the front end to the key insertion hole 20a at the rear end the key insertion holes are aligned in an approximately straight line to form a through hole, so that a foreign substance of a predetermined particle size is allowed to pass therethrough. A key 30 for operating to lock and unlock the disk cylinder lock unit 10 has an interface portion 35 between a protruding axis portion 32 and an operating handle portion 34, which interface portion 35 is so formed to break before the interface portion 33 between the key insertion portion 31 and the protruding axis portion 32 breaks.
