Title:
DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3304534
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device, which presents less power loss and can supply a control power without provision of any separate transformer, and to establish a circuit system which can supply more current to the control power supply with higher frequency when dimming.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp lighting device is composed of an inverter circuit 4 to convert a DC power into a high frequency power and a load circuit which includes a discharge lamp 2 and uses an inductor L1 as a current limiting element. The power for control circuit 3 of the inverter circuit 4 is supplied from the secondary winding of the inductor L1. It is preferable that an FET is used as a switching element Q1. The polarity of the secondary winding of the inductor L1 is set so that current is fed to the power supply of the inverter circuit control circuit 3 when a switching element Q2 is turned on.
