Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively position both elements to a data track by improving the installation method to an upper surface and a lower surface of the read/ write converter of dual elements.
CONSTITUTION: The practically same dual elements comprised of an inductive write converter and a magnetic resistance read converter are respectively provided on both upper surface 11 and lower surface 12 of a disk 10. The respective dual element read/write converters (21 on the upper surface) are supported so as to match the geometrical center of a read element and a write element to the rear end of carriers 13 and 17 without mechanical offsets. Then, the sense current of the magnetic resistance element of the magnetic resistance read converter is supplied by inverse polarities for the elements on the upper surface 11 and lower surface 12 of the disk 10. Thus, the magnetic center of the read elements at an upper part and a lower part is shifted in the opposite direction of the geometrical center. By the size and direction of the magnetic shift, the read element is offset from the corresponding write element and influence on the positioning to the data track of the read element and the write element by skewness generated by a rotary actuator 27 is minimized.
