To provide a disperse dye ink high in a particle-forming ability, good in disperse stability and long period preservability and little in the clogging of filters and nozzles during the continuous extrusion of the ink.
This disperse dye ink for ink jet printing is used for an ink jet printing system comprising imparting an ink containing a dyeable dye to a fabric as ink drops from a nozzle by the ink jet printing method, subjecting the imparted ink to a color-developing treatment, washing and subsequently drying. Therein, the dye ink has the following characteristics. An anionic oligomer-dispersing agent having a functional group is used as a dispersing agent for the disperse dye for the ink jet printing. A water-soluble high boiling point organic solvent in the ink has a surface tension of ≥46 dyne/cm. The value of an inorganic property/an organic property is 2-6. The water-soluble high boiling pint organic solvent is contained in an amount of 5-70 wt.% in the ink. The viscosity of the ink is ≤10 cP at 25°C.
