To increase the coating-peeling rate of a prescription comprising a water drop-in-oil type emulsion and used for peeling coatings by adding anisole to the benzyl alcohol phase of the water drop-in-oil type emulsion having an aqueous phase and a continuous benzyl alcohol phase.

This prescription for peeling coatings contains a water drop- in-oil type emulsion having an aqueous phase and a continuous benzyl alcohol phase. Therein, the benzyl alcohol phase is compounded with anisole in an amount effective for increasing the peeling rate, and preferably further a wax for improving peeling efficiency, a terpene, such as d-limonene, for retarding the evaporation rate of water, and pyrrrole for furthermore enhancing the peeling rate.
