PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the temperature of the entire backlight system so that the temperature will be uniform and to suppress occurrence of color variations or luminance variations in a displayed image.SOLUTION: The display device includes: display means; illumination means for emitting light to the display means; a plurality of adjusting means for adjusting the temperature of each of the adjustment regions formed by dividing the surface of the display means; temperature information acquisition means for acquiring temperature information for each adjustment region; and control means for controlling the adjustment means so that the temperature of each adjustment region will be near the target temperature set for each adjustment region on the basis of the temperature information on each adjustment region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
