The display device 2 for a vehicle provided in the vehicle 1 including the environmental energy generating equipment 3 for converting environmental energy present in the peripheral environment of the vehicle 1 to power and a battery 4 for storing the power includes: detection parts (a generating equipment monitor, a battery monitor) 7 and 8 for detecting the power generation state of the environmental energy generating equipment 3 and the power storage state of the battery 4; and a vehicle outside display part 5 provided on the outer side of a vehicle body, for displaying the power generation state and the power storage state detected in the detection parts 7 and 8 to be confirmed outside the vehicle. The vehicle outside display part 5 displays the power generation state and the power storage state detected in the detection parts 7 and 8 using the power converted from the environmental energy when a drive source 11 for making the vehicle 1 travel is stopped.
