To provide a display device capable of surely eliminating non-uniform display occurring on each display pixel group of the 1st or N-th scanning electrode without inviting an cost increase for driving a dummy scanning electrode.
The display device is provided with N pieces of normal scanning electrodes 11, a plurality of normal pixel electrodes 5 arranged in a matrix form, and a dielectric material layer arranged between them. A 1st dummy scanning electrode 11a is arranged so as to be adjacent to the outside of the 1st scanning electrode 11 of the N electrodes and also extend in parallel to the 1st scanning electrode. The 1st dummy scanning electrode 11a is connected with any one of the N pieces of the scanning electrodes so that the voltage of the 1st dummy scanning electrode 11a, when a scanning signal is applied to the 1st scanning electrode 11, is equal to the voltage of the scanning electrode 11 less numbered and adjacent to the scanning electrode 11 when a scanning signal is applied to one of the 2nd to N-th scanning electrodes.
